About the creators

Peter Morris is an an award-winning graphic designer, a nationally recognized toy artist and owner of Local Hero Design. He says, "ahhhh" to a warm cup of mocha java but make it decaf because too much caffeine makes him paranoid. Peter is partial to an upcoming character named Chicken Soup Charlie scheduled to be released next year.

Ken Kavanaugh is co-owner of Bad Robot and general manager at The Mill Coffee and Tea. He has been working in all aspects of the coffee business for nearly 15 years, and learning the art of roasting over the last three. His favorite coffee is Kenyan, which he insists has nothing to do with the name. Ken most identifies with Coffeeville's Hemingway, not so much because he grasps existentialism (or fly fishing), but because he enjoys hibernating and loves going out for occasional meals of uncooked fish.

Cynthia Caylor loves fabric and has been sewing since childhood. She got her first sewing machine at 8 years old and never looked back. She likes a tasty vanilla coffee. Cynthia raises her own chickens and she's rather fond of roosters at the moment so her favorite Coffeeville character is Everett.

Leah Bucco-White is a writer and collaborator. You won't find her in the morning without a mocha. Let's face it, coffee keeps her happy. Leah feels a kinship with Monticello. Like the mayor, she keeps tabs on what's happening around town.

Welcome to Coffeeville

Just off the beaten path, Coffeeville is a place where a local artist, quirky characters, and coffee connoisseurs meet.

Who lives there? Folks like:

  • Happy -the pine tree lumberjack who gets distracted
    by fluffy clouds.
  • Everett - a down-to-earth rooster who's a farmer and
more reliable than the spring rain.
  • Monticello - one hoot of a town mayor who knows
    everyone's business.
  • Hemingway - a wise, old bear who's just as comfortable talking about fly fishing as he is existentialism.
  • Nevada - a cactus cowboy and a man of few words who's
as trustworthy as he is tough.

In Coffeeville, everybody likes coffee and is always willing to share a fresh cup.
